June 2023
Today, Little Learners had a visit from Zoolab. The children met Freddie the tree frog, he changes colour to match what he is sitting on, he uses his eyes to swallow his food because his neck muscles do not work, and he used the suckers on his feet to climb onto a T-shirt and our window.
Mr. Jagger (Mick) the giant African train millipede will have four hundred legs when he is fully grown. He is known as the dustman of the rainforest because he eats all the rubbish that falls onto the floor.
Mr Dylan (Bob) is a 19-year-old corn snake. He has strong muscles. We showed the Zoolab carer our muscles.
Blondie is a tarantula spider. She sleeps for 24 hours a day. She has eight eyes and no eyelids, so she covers her eyes with her legs when she sleeps. She will turn pink when she gets older, others will change to assorted colours.
Flip and Flop are hissing cockroaches. Flip is the girl and Flop is the boy. Flip had sixty babies in one night. They eat chocolate, pizza, and shoes. They eat anything! Except glass, metal, brick, plastic, and anything that is living.
